# Top-up presets

> Use the available top-up choices to add prepaid credits and restore a negative workspace balance.

Top-up presets are checkout shortcuts for adding prepaid credits to your workspace. They are credit purchases, not plans or subscriptions.

You can choose $10, $25, $50, $100, $250, or $500. You can also enter a custom amount or use automatic recharge.

## Add credits

1. Open [Settings > Cost](https://runinfra.ai/settings/cost#credits).
2. Select a preset or enter a custom amount.
3. Complete checkout.
4. After the payment succeeds, RunInfra adds the purchased credits to your workspace balance and records the purchase in credit activity.

A successful paid top-up also increases your lifetime purchase total for [spend tiers](/docs/faq/spend-tiers).

## Recover a negative balance

Work already in progress can settle after your balance reaches zero. This can leave a small negative balance and pause new billable work.

When your balance is negative, the top-up prompt shows the minimum amount needed to return to zero. A successful top-up first offsets the negative amount. The negative-balance restriction clears only when the resulting balance is zero or higher.

If the top-up adds more than the amount needed to reach zero, the remaining credits are available for new work.

## Automatic recharge

Automatic recharge adds credits when your balance reaches the threshold you set. A successful automatic recharge follows the same balance and spend-tier rules as a manual top-up. It offsets any negative balance first and counts toward lifetime paid credit purchases.
